JW-Jones Blues Band - 2002 - Bogart's Bounce [256]

This music has a strut and the balls to back it up, with a swinging feel that will over power you, and make women move in ways you have never seen before. The leading swing-jump guitar work of JW-Jones fills this album like whiskey saturates the soul. While Southside Steve Marriner's harmonica on tunes like "Ain't Soon Enough" is amazing, like the man is channeling the North wind itself; and Gene Taylor's piano on "Heard The News" gives a playful twist to the tune. This is a great album with Blues cut from the deepest part of the soul. The musical play on "Without You" as well as throughout this album is extraordinary, with every member of the band providing outstanding components that add up to an awesome piece of work. Like so many great albums the addition of guests musicians increases the total worth of the CD, this album is no different with the great vocal works of Kim Wilson on "Blind Date Woman" and Roxanne Potvin on "You Forgot To Come Back."
