Piano player and gravel voiced singer, Pugsley Buzzard's performances draw from a rich vein of piano based music from Harlem Stride, New Orleans Funk, Swampshack Jazz, Barrelhouse Blues to Modern Improvisations. Pugsley's sound has has been compared to Fats Waller, Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart and Professor Longhair. Pugsley Buzzard is a piano player and singer with a distinctive sound. He plays funky New Orleans style grooves, barrelhouse blues, stride and boogie and some modern stylings mixed in all together forming a mind blowing gumbo of sound oozing with tantalizing improvisation. Pugsley describes himself as a" grizzly bear in a porkpie hat rummaging through a piano. " He is certainly a fascinating character with a rich raspy blues drenched baritone voice that can make the ladies sigh and grown men cry.
